Detox Diet Plan

Whilst detoxifying it is important to eat as lightly as possible to take the load of your digestive system and allow your liver to do it’s job of filtering toxins.

We recommend that around 80% of your foods be raw, consisting of fresh, organic fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, salads, smoothies, nut pastes, vege dips, sundried fruits and sprouted breads (Essene bread).
The other 20% of your diet can consist of steamed veges, soups, broths, casseroles, curries, stir fries, cooked lentils and legumes.
Grains should be whole, unrefined and wheat-free and may include: brown rice, quinoa, millet, buckwheat, oats, barley, rye, spelt, amaranth, kamut, and polenta.

Make sure you drink a minimum of 6-8 glasses of pure filtered water daily and as many other fluids as possible such as fresh fruit and vege juices, herbal teas (such as dandelion, green, lemon, ginger, peppermint teas) and miso broths.
Start each day with half a lemon squeezed into a glass of warm water to help flush your liver and kidneys. You can also try 2 tsps of apple cider vinegar in water or organic apple juice instead. Try to have at least 2 glasses of fresh fruit/vege juices daily-choose from the list below.
These fluids will all help to flush out the toxins and reduce any side effects.

BREAKFAST IDEAS:

Smoothies:
-fruit (banana, berries, mango, melon
-1 Tblsp L.S.A (Linseed, Sunflower seed, Almond meal)
-1 Tblsp flaxseed oil (optional)
-1-2 tsps psyllium husk
-1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
-1-2 tsp raw honey (optional)
-rice/almond/coconut milk

Porridge/Muesli:
Whole grains, chopped/grated fresh or dried fruits, L.S.A, raw nuts & seeds, dessicated sulphur-free coconut, with rice/almond/coconut milk or organic apple juice.

Fresh Fuit/Vege Juices:
Choose from any of the following: Carrot, apple, celery, beetroot, ginger.
Carrot, pineapple, mint, orange.
Carrot, lemon, parsley, ginger, watermelon
Carrot, celery, beetroot, paw paw
Carrot, celery, beetroot, cucumber, tomato, parsley, ginger, capsicum, lemon
Or feel free to create your own!
You can add some 1-2 tsps psyllium, wheatgrass/barleygrass or spirulina powder, 1 tsp liquid chlorophyll, or a probiotic powder to make the detoxification process even more effective if you desire.

LUNCH & DINNER IDEAS:

Soups/broths:
Miso paste, seaweed (wakame, nori, kelp, kombu, dulse) with veges (ginger, shallots, kumara, mushrooms, capsicums) and lentils/legumes.

Tofu & vege stir fries with brown rice and cashews.
Lentil & vege casserole with steamed quinoa.
Vege bake: veges, lentils/legumes, tofu, miso paste, sliced kumara and eggplant with a tomato/mushroom sauce.
Vege curries with chickpeas, coconut milk and brown rice.
Stuffed capsicums with brown rice, mushies, pinenuts, miso paste/tamari.
Wheat-free pasta with pesto, veges, chickpeas and pinenuts.
Essene bread with avocado, hommus, tahini, tomato, alfalfa, rocket, or nut pastes.

Salads:
Choose from a wide variety leafy greens with grated carrot/beetroot/pumpkin or roasted veges, avocado, chick peas, lentils, tofu, falafels, raw or toasted nuts & seeds.
Top with a dressing made from olive/flaxseed oil with lemon, garlic, apple cider vinegar, sea salt & pepper.

Steam veges with brown rice and legumes/tofu.
Lentil/chickpea/split pea soups with veges and brown rice/Essene bread.

SNACKS:

Vegetable sticks with hommus, tahini, guacamole, baba ganoush,olive tapenade, nut pastes.
Fresh fruit, gogi berries, sundried fruit.
Raw or toasted unsalted nuts and seeds.
Fresh fuit/vege juices
Miso broths

SUPPLEMENTS:

To assist with your detox program we recommend the following supplements:
Bentonite clay (1-2 Tblsp 2 x daily)
Psyllium husks (1-2 tsps 2 x daily)
Vita Greens powder with probiotics ( 1 tsp 2 x daily)
Herbal liver & kidney tonic (1/2 tsp 2 x daily)
